This comes amid confirmation that Ferland Mendy, fresh off being condemned to another spell on the sidelines, has as expected been left out.
On a more positive note, though, Xabi Alonso and his staff have also been boosted by a return to fitness in central defence.
After sitting out against Girona over the weekend owing to a bout of illness, Raúl Asencio is back available for selection on Wednesday.
