Official: Mbappé absent as Real Madrid announce October Player of the Month nominees

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Wednesday unveiled the nominees for the club’s Player of the Month award for October.

And the five-man shortlist features one altogether noteworthy absentee, in Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé has dominated Los Blancos’ squad when it comes to the Player of the Month prize across the 2025/26 campaign to date.

This time round, however, despite his ongoing excellence in front of goal, the Frenchman misses out.

Instead, the list of nominees is comprised of Jude Bellingham, Éder Militão, Thibaut Courtois, Arda Güler, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Real Madrid, as a collective, enjoyed an altogether productive time of things across the month of October.

All told, either side of the international break, Los Blancos took to the pitch on four occasions.

And Xabi Alonso’s troops emerged on the right side of the result in all four, in the process extending their advantage atop the La Liga table to five points.
