Official | Mallorca appoint Javier Aguirre as manager

Mallorca have announced the appointment of Javier Aguirre as the club’s new manager.

With 381 Spanish league appearances at Osasuna, Atlético Madrid, Zaragoza, Espanyol and Leganés over eleven seasons, the Mexican coach arrives to take charge of a Mallorca side in the bottom three of La Liga.

His last spell in La Liga was with Leganés. Aguirre missed out on survival by a single point after the winter transfer window left him without his two strikers Youssef En Nesyri and Martin Braithwaite, who left for Sevilla and Barcelona respectively.

Aguirre arrives in Mallorca alongside Toni Amor, his assistant in the United Arab Emirates at Al-Wahda and at Leganés, and the rest of his coaching staff.
