The XI of players called upon by La Liga giants Real Madrid for their upcoming meeting with Manchester City has been unveiled online.
And it features several altogether noteworthy exclusions.
Beginning at the back, where Xabi Alonso is facing something of a personnel crisis at present, all of Dani Carvajal, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Ferland Mendy and Éder Militão, as expected, miss out.
In midfield, meanwhile, Eduardo Camavinga is the headline absentee.
And up top comes the most significant omission of all, with Kylian Mbappé forced to make do with a place on the bench.
This means a whole host of alterations in Los Blancos’ line-up, with Federico Valverde sliding across to right-back, Raúl Asencio taking his place at the heart of defence, Dani Ceballos afforded a rare start in the middle of the park, and both Rodrygo and youngster Gonzalo García chosen in attack.
