La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday announced an important contract renewal in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that Fermín López has committed his long-term future to the Blaugrana.
Midfielder Fermín is of course in the midst of a stellar campaign to date.
Despite niggling fitness problems, the Spanish international has racked up a hugely impressive 21 direct goal contributions in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Such production culminated in the Camp Nou brass recently opening talks with Fermín’s entourage, over the terms of a new contract.
And as alluded to above, late this week, such discussions have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms on Friday afternoon, the 22-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal in Catalunya’s capital, all the way through the summer of 2031.
In the process, Fermín has put to bed the long-standing speculation surrounding his future.
