Newly promoted Huesca have exercised their option to buy defender Pablo Insua from Schalke until 2023.

In an official club statement, Huesca confirmed the central defender has joined the club in their quest to remain in the top flight after winning the 2019/20 Segunda Division.

Insua signed for Schalke in 2017, after the Bundesliga side paid Deportivo de La Coruña 3.5 million euros for the player, who was on loan at Leganés. The 26-year-old then joined Huesca in July 2018 and the club have used their option to buy the defender, a clause that was included if Huesca got promoted to Primera.
