La Liga outfit Girona have on Saturday announced a fresh addition to the club’s midfield ranks.
This comes amid confirmation of the signing of Azzedine Ounahi from Olympique Marseille.
Ounahi, for his part, is a 25-year-old midfielder, capable of lining out in a variety of roles in the middle of the park.
The Moroccan, capped on 40 occasions by his country, spent last season out on loan away from Marseille, with Greek giants Panathinaikos.
And Ounahi went on to thoroughly impress, to the tune of five goals and seven assists across all competitions.
Such production had since given rise to links with a number of clubs from across the continent over the course of the summer to date.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, one such suitor have won out in the race for his signature.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Spanish outfit Girona:
‘Girona FC and Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement for the transfer of Azzedine Ounahi, who becomes the new red-and-white player. The Moroccan midfielder signs a contract for five seasons, until June 30, 2030, and joins the project led by Míchel Sánchez to strengthen the team’s midfield.’
