La Liga outfit Girona have this week been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Daley Blind could well be set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Blanquivermells on Friday evening:
‘Daley Blind suffered a cervical contusion during yesterday’s session. The evolution of the injury will determine his return to training.’
Defender Blind has for his part continued to play a leading role for a struggling Girona outfit across the early months of the new campaign.
Of the Catalan outfit’s 12 La Liga outings, the Dutchman has featured from the off in all but one.
Any kind of notable spell on the sidelines for his defensive mainstay would in turn mark a heavy blow for Girona headmaster Míchel and his staff.
A further update on Blind’s wellbeing is expected over the days ahead.
