The busy summer being enjoyed by La Liga outfit Espanyol on the transfer front has on Thursday continued.
This comes amid confirmation of a fresh addition to the club’s midfield ranks.
The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms at the RCDE Stadium? Urko González.
The name of verstile midfielder Urko will be an altogether familiar one to those of an Espanyol persuasion.
This comes with the 24-year-old having spent the 2nd half of last season plying his trade with the club on loan from Real Sociedad.
Not only that, but Urko quickly established himself as an absolute mainstay in Manolo González’s XI.
The Espanyol brass, in turn, had long kicked into gear negotiations with their Real Sociedad counterparts, over the terms of a permanent deal for the Spaniard.
And as alluded to above, this week, an agreement regarding as much has officially been found.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Pericos:
‘RCD Espanyol and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of Urko González de Zárate to the white-and-blue team. Urko, who underwent the relevant medical examination at the Creu Blanca Clinic this Thursday, will be a Perico player until June 30, 2030.’
