Elche head coach Eder Sarabia has on Wednesday announced his departure from the club with immediate effect.
The Spanish tactician announced as much during a sudden press conference called earlier today.
Sarabia is for his part fresh off bringing a close to his 2nd season on the touchline in Alicante. After achieving promotion to La Liga in his first year in charge, the 45-year-old followed up by guiding Elche to a 15th-placed finish this time round.
The final months of the term proved hugely stressful, as the Franjiverdes were one of a whole host of clubs dragged into the relegation battle.
And such woes appear to have taken their toll on Sarabia and his staff…
As alluded to above, on Wednesday, the former attacker called a press conference, during which Sarabia confirmed that he does not intend to continue at the Estadio Manuel MartĂnez Valero in 2026/27:
“Yesterday we communicated to the club our intention not to continue. They have been two wonderful years in which we have achieved historic things.”
