La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday provided an update on the wellbeing of defensive star Alejandro Balde.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, after the left-back set alarm bells sounding across the Barcelona fanbase last night.
Afforded a start in the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Leganés, Balde lasted less than 45 minutes, before being forced to limp off.
This came owing to what appeared to be a muscular issue.
Amid such a crucial stretch of the campaign for their side, all of a Barca persuasion, in turn, will no doubt be interested to hear of an update on Balde’s situation on Sunday coming to the fore online.
As per a statement across the Catalans’ website and social media platforms:
‘Tests carried out on Sunday morning on the first team player Alejandro Balde confirm that he has a distal injury to his left hamstring. His return to action with the first team will depend on his recovery.’
It now remains to be seen just how long the 21-year-old is unavailable for selection.
