Official: Barcelona star suffers ACL injury

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Tuesday announced a major personnel setback in the club’s first-team ranks. This comes by way of confirmation that Roony Bardghji has suffered a torn ACL.

Youngster Bardghji has of course found himself front and centre in the media headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last 24 hours. After being forced out of a Blaugrana training session in evident distress, murmurs quickly began to spread that the Swede had suffered a serious injury.

Bardghji has already been forced to deal with one major knee injury in his fledgling career, after tearing his right ACL back in early 2024.

And in a heavy blow for club and player alike, this week, tests have confirmed that the 20-year-old has indeed suffered the same injury once more.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s official website and social media platforms:

‘First-team player Roony Bardghji has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days.’

Bardghji is expected to miss almost the entirety of the campaign ahead as a result.
