Official: Barcelona star scoops La Liga Player of the Year prize

Barcelona star Raphinha has on Sunday seen his excellence over the course of the 2024/25 season aptly recognised.

This comes amid confirmation that the Brazilian has been named La Liga Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Attacker Raphinha’s name has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines once more over recent weeks.

This comes after the former Leeds United man’s disappointing 5th-placed Ballon d’Or finish was followed by a complete exclusion from the FIFPRO World XI.

All associated with Barcelona will on Sunday therefore be delighted by the latest developments at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Raphinha has been officially crowned La Liga Player of the Year for last season.

This accolade comes after the 29-year-old racked up a hugely impressive 30 direct goal contributions across 36 appearances in Spain’s top-flight.

Elsewhere, fellow Blaugrana star Lamine Yamal also secured fresh silverware on Sunday, named the ‘Best Forward’ at the Globe Soccer ceremony.
