A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been named the official UEFA Champions League Player of the Week.
The Blaugrana star in question? Marcus Rashford.
Frontman Rashford is for his part of course fresh off his standout performance in Barcelona colours to date.
En route to a 2-1 Champions League opening day triumph at Newcastle United, the Englishman netted both of his side’s goals in a Man of the Match performance.
After first nodding home a fine header to open the scoring at St. James’ Park, Rashford conjured up the game’s standout moment a short time later, driving a stunning strike from distance in off the underside of the crossbar.
As much proved enough to earn for the on-loan Manchester United man a place on the shortlist for Champions League Player of the Week.
And as alluded to above, on Friday, Rashford has officially beaten out the competition to bag the prize:
