A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was condemned to a somewhat disappointing finish in the voting for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The player in question? Pedri.
Spanish international Pedri has of course spent recent weeks cementing himself as, in the eyes of many, the very best midfielder in world football.
The 22-year-old is in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular spell of form at present, excelling in all aspects of the game for Spain and Barcelona alike.
As much follows what was an equally superb campaign in 2024/25, en route to Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana securing a domestic treble.
Calls, in turn, had long begun to mount for Pedri’s brilliance to be recognised by way of a spot well inside the top 10 places at the Ballon d’Or.
As alluded to above, however, this has not proven to be the case.
Instead, as confirmed a short time ago, Pedri has been forced to make do with an 11th-placed finish at the ‘Golden Ball’ gala in Paris.
