Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has this week officially won out in his battle with Poland, and the country’s coaching staff.
This comes amid confirmation that manager Michał Probierz has departed his post with immediate effect.
The last week has proven an altogether turbulent one for all of the Polish national team, Probierz, and Lewandowski.
First, the latter announced his decision to step away from international duty entirely, so long as Probierz was in charge.
It was then revealed that the tactician had stripped Lewandowski of his role as captain.
It will in turn no doubt come as a major source of relief for the experienced goalscorer to learn that, on Thursday, his wish has been granted.
As per COPE, this morning, Probierz admitted that:
“In the current situation, the best decision is my resignation.”
Lewandowski, as a result, is expected to make himself available to his country once more over the months ahead.
