La Liga giants Barcelona have on Monday secured a fresh addition to the club’s academy setup.
The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana? Jan Virgili.
Virgili, for his part, is an 18-year-old attacker, whose technical and tactical gifts make him capable of lining out either on the left or right wing, in attacking midfield, or even in a centre-forward role.
The Spaniard enjoyed something of a breakout campaign last time out, which saw him turn heads courtesy of an 18-goal haul for Nàstic.
Such exploits piqued attentions across the Spanish football landscape, with a number of La Liga clubs understood to have identified Virgili as a potential addition.
As alluded to above, though, in the end, it was Barcelona who swooped decisively.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Jan Virgili, an 18-year-old youth forward, has been presented by José Ramon Alexanco, director of youth football, as a new FC Barcelona player.’
The starlet is expected to link up with Juliano Belletti’s Juvenil A squad to begin with, before lending a hand to Barca Atlètic over the course of the campaign.
