La Liga champions Barcelona have on Tuesday released a statement which will no doubt leave the club’s supporters disappointed.
This comes amid confirmation of the venue for the club’s post-international break return to action.
Barcelona are primed to kick their pursuit of the La Liga title back into gear on October 18th, in a home meeting with Catalan rivals Girona.
Hansi Flick’s troops will head into the matchup with sights on a bounce-back result, following a pair of successive defeats at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla.
In efforts towards as much, however, the Blaugrana will again not be able to depend on the roar of the Spotify Camp Nou.
As confirmed in a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms, amid ongoing delays in the Camp Nou construction process:
‘FC Barcelona announces that the LaLiga Matchday 9 match against Girona FC, which will be played on Saturday, October 18 at 4:15 p.m., will be played at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.’
