Official: Barcelona & Real Madrid stars nominated for La Liga Player of the Month

Leading players from Spanish football’s two biggest clubs have this week seen their recent efforts on the pitch recognised.

This comes by way of respective nominations for the La Liga Player of the Month award.

From table-topping Real Madrid, it is leading goalscorer Kylian Mbappé who is again given the nod.

Frontman Mbappé is actually in the midst of a rare dry streak in front of goal at present, having not found the net in any of his last three outings across all competitions.

But the Frenchman has nevertheless managed a trio of direct goal contributions in La Liga across November (2G, 1A).

Turning focus towards Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad, and it is Lamine Yamal who has been put forward as a candidate to be named Spanish football’s best.

Winger Lamine has played a central role in Barca’s perfect month to date on the domestic front, notching two goals and two assists in three appearances.

The 18-year-old, as a result, has joined all of Mbappé, Antoine Griezmann, Mikel Oyarzabal and Gerard Moreno on the shortlist for November Player of the Month.
