An iconic figure at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona is set to bring an imminent close to his fabled career.
The player in question? Sergio Busquets.
Engine room veteran Busquets is for his part of course currently plying his club trade in the USA, with MLS outfit Inter Miami.
Despite his advancing years, the 37-year-old is in the midst of a fine season to date, culminating in eight assists across 28 league appearances.
As much has proven key in keeping alive Inter Miami’s hopes of a top spot finish in MLS’ Eastern Conference.
As alluded to above, though, such excellence on Busquets’ part will not be on show for much longer…
On Friday, the ex-Spanish international made official his plans to hang up his boots upon the conclusion of Inter Miami’s 2025 season.
Barcelona, in turn, have since moved to pay tribute to a player who, alongside Xavi and Andrés Iniesta, defined a generation of Spanish football.
