La Liga champions Barcelona have on Thursday evening discovered their opponents for the league phase of the upcoming edition of the Champions League.
And some familiar faces await for Hansi Flick’s star-studded troops…
The most noteworthy comes in the form of former headmaster Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain, who of course last season went all the way on Europe’s grandest stage for the very first time.
Also awaiting the Blaugrana over the coming months are Chelsea, fresh off clinching glory in this summer’s maiden Club World Cup.
Further Premier League competition come in the form of Newcastle United, alongside the likes of Club Brugge and Eintracht Frankfurt.
For those not aware, the new Champions League format will see each team lock horns in a one-off outing, determining their finish in the overall table, and subsequent qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.
