La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday confirmed the nature of the injury suffered by star striker Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski of course set alarm bells sounding in Catalunya’s capital on Saturday night.
This came after the Pole was forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.
En route to a last-gasp comeback victory for Hansi Flick’s troops, Lewandowski pulled up late in the action at Montjuïc, before limping from the field of play in evident discomfort.
Speaking to the media post-match, Hansi Flick explained that his first-choice striker was set to undergo a round of medical scans on Sunday.
And as alluded to above, this afternoon, the results of as much have been revealed.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:
‘Tests carried out on Sunday have confirmed that first-team player Robert Lewandowski has a left semitendinosus injury. His return will be determined by his progress.’
