La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday made official a contract renewal in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that Eric García has committed to a new long-term deal in Catalunya’s capital.
As per a statement across the Blaugrana’s website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and it player Eric García have reached an agreement for his contract to be extended by five seasons, through to 30 June 2031.
‘The player will be putting pen to paper at an event next Thursday 11 December at 1.30pm CET in the president’s office, after which Eric will be speaking to the media.’
Defender Eric has for his part of course enjoyed nothing short of a brilliant individual campaign to date.
Considered something of a fringe player for much of last season, the former Manchester City man has since gone on to establish himself as a pivotal figure in Hansi Flick’s squad.
Be it at right-back, centre-back or even in midfield, Eric has shone in a host of roles this term, more than deserving of his new contract.
