Official: Barcelona announce double injury boost

La Liga champions Barcelona have on Sunday confirmed that both Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo have been cleared to feature in the club’s next outing.

Attacker Lewandowski and midfielder Olmo were both forced to sit out for the latest occasion last weekend, as Barcelona were put to the sword by arch rivals Real Madrid.

This came owing to respective hamstring and calf injuries.

Across the week to date, both players had been spotted back out on the grass at the Ciutat Esportiva, giving rise to hope of imminent returns to an injury-ravaged Blaugrana squad.

And as alluded to above, on Sunday, precisely as much has been confirmed.

As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course primed to return to action in short order.

After falling a full eight points off the pace atop the La Liga table on Saturday, the Catalans will be aware that nothing but a return to winning ways will suffice against newly-promoted Elche.
