Official: Atlético Madrid close deal for Atalanta star

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Tuesday announced a permanent addition to the club’s first-team ranks.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Rojiblancos? Juan Musso.

Goalkeeper Musso of course spent this past season plying his trade with Diego Simeone’s troops, on loan from Serie A outfit Atalanta.

The Argentine went on to play something of a bit-part role in Spain’s capital, racking up 10 appearances across all competitions whilst acting as Jan Oblak’s backup.

Recent speculation, in turn, had pointed towards Musso being altogether unlikely to stay put in La Liga for next season.

As alluded to above, though, on Tuesday, precisely that has been confirmed.

As per a statement across Atlético’s website and social media platforms, Musso has joined the club on a permanent basis, through the summer of 2028:

‘Atlético de Madrid and Atalanta have reached an agreement over the signing of Juan Musso, who has signed for our club until 2028. The Argentine goalkeeper spent this season on loan with us.’
