The busy summer transfer window being enjoyed by La Liga giants Atlético Madrid has this week continued.
This comes amid confirmation of a fresh addition to the attacking ranks in Diego Simeone’s squad.
The latest player to have put pen to paper on terms at the Metropolitano? Giacomo Raspadori.
The name of Italian international Raspadori of course emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines across Europe over recent days.
This came after word was forthcoming that, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third, the aforementioned Atlético Madrid had earmarked the 25-year-old as the ideal profile.
Transfer talks, in turn, were kicked into gear with Serie A champions Napoli.
And as alluded to above, early this week, these negotiations have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Atlético on Monday evening:
‘Giacomo Raspadori is a new Atlético de Madrid player after our club and Napoli reached an agreement for his transfer. The striker passed his medical examination at the Vithas – Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre at the Madrid Arturo Soria University Hospital in Madrid. He then headed to the club’s offices at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, where he signed his five-year contract with our club.’
