Yet another member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is set to miss the club’s return to action this weekend.
The player in question? Ferran Torres.
Frontman Ferran was for his part forced into a premature departure from international duty with Spain earlier this week.
At the time, it was assured that as much did not come as a result of any sort of serious injury, with the former Manchester City man having therefore been expected to be available this weekend.
Barcelona are primed to kick their campaign back into gear on Saturday, in a derby meeting with Catalan rivals Girona.
As alluded to above, though, the efforts of Hansi Flick’s troops to secure a return to winning ways will in fact come without the contributions of Ferran.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s social media platforms, with Robert Lewandowski already ruled out:
‘First team player Ferran Torres will miss tomorrow’s match against Girona as a precaution, due to discomfort stemming from the hamstring overload in his left leg, sustained during the international break.’
