Chelsea star Robert Sánchez aimed something of an underhanded dig at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona, in the aftermath of the meeting between the sides on Tuesday.
This of course comes after the Blues made surprisingly short work of Hansi Flick’s troops.
In an altogether one-sided affair at Stamford Bridge, it was Club World Cup holders Chelsea who emerged on the right side of an eventual 3-0 result.
And as much, it would appear, has already had an impact on how Barcelona are viewed on the continent.
Speaking to the media after managing a clean sheet against the Blaugrana yesterday evening, the aforementioned Robert Sánchez was asked if he considers the Spanish champions as being amongst the favourites to lift this season’s Champions League.
And the shot-stopper did not at all bite his tongue, in responding:
“Barça among the favourites to win the Champions League? No, I see us as favourites.”
