Clarification regarding the rumours linking Neymar with a shock return to La Liga with Barcelona has today been forthcoming online.
The name of Brazilian international Neymar has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain over the course of the last 48 hours.
This comes after reports stemming from the media pointed towards a potential reunion between the parties being on the cards.
As per Bar Canaletes, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has remained in regular contact with the club’s former winger, since his move to Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal.
And, during conversations between the pair, it is suggested that the idea of a free agent reunion in the summer of 2025 has been confirmed as being of interest to both.
If the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then those of a Barca persuasion keen on the prospect of as much need not get their hopes up.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano that, in fact, talks have not been opened between the Blaugrana and Neymar:
“According to my information, as of today, there are no contacts for Neymar to return to Barcelona. He is 100% focused on his Saudi chapter.”
