Newcastle interested in Atlético Madrid players Renan Lodi and Yannick Carrasco

Newcastle are interested in Atlético Madrid pair Renan Lodi and Yannick Carrasco, according to David Medina of Marca.

Lodi is also wanted by Juventus but the English club have more financial muscle. As reported in England, they could make an offer of around €40 million, which would help Atlético make summer signings of their own.

Atlético manager Diego Simeone does not want Carrasco to leave. His release clause is currently set at €60 million. The Belgian reportedly wants to stay in Madrid, however, his new agent is looking for improved conditions for his client.

Newcastle and Atlético have done business together in recent times. England international Kieran Trippier joined the Magpies from the La Liga club.

In previous seasons, Premier League sides came looking for Atlético’s key players. Midfielders Rodri and Thomas Partey joined Manchester City and Arsenal respectively for fees of €70m and €50m.
