Newly-signed Real Madrid star Álvaro Carreras has taken to social media, to provide his first response to his Blancos reunion being made official.
The name of defender Carreras has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 24 hours.
This comes after the 22-year-old’s long-anticipated transfer from Benfica was finally made official.
As confirmed by way of a statement across Real Madrid’s website and social media platforms, Carreras has penned a long-term contract with the club, adding to Xabi Alonso’s options at left-back moving forward.
Carreras’ move to Spain’s capital actually marks something of a homecoming for the talented full-back, who spent three years developing on the books of Los Blancos earlier in his career.
In his first response to the news of his Real switch being made public, Carreras, in turn, made clear that he feels as though he is now ‘back home’:
