New Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappé: “I will play for my dream club”

Real Madrid’s latest Galáctico, Kylian Mbappé, has spoken of his delight to play for his ‘dream’ club and has vowed to stay in Madrid for a minimum of five years. Los Blancos finally announced the arrival of the Frenchman and the player answered the questions of the press earlier today.

It was reported that the announcement of this deal wouldn’t take place until after the European Championships, with Mbappé fully focused on leading France at the upcoming tournament. However, both parties decided it was the right time to make it official.

The deal was wrapped up months ago, however an agreement between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain meant that the club couldn’t make it official until after the season had ended. Mbappé thanked former players such as Cristiano Ronaldo on social media for their positive messages.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old expressed his delight at leaving PSG on a free transfer to join the biggest club in the world.

He said: “I feel relieved. I arrive at Real Madrid with a lot of humbleness, it’s the biggest club in the world.

“I want to thank President Florentino Pérez. He trusted me from day one.

“I’m happy. I’m very happy, you can see that smile on my face and a happy player can perform way better. I will play for my dream club. I will be at Real Madrid for at minimum five years.”

Madrid fans will able to see their new reinforcement in action in just under two weeks, when the forward captains France at the Euros.
