Nabil Fekir returns from injury

Real Betis’ Nabil Fekir has been deemed fit to play, confirm Estadio Deportivo.

Nabil Fekir damaged his hamstring in his left leg during Los Verdiblancos’ match against Real Madrid on the fourth match-day of La Liga. He had to be substituted and was ruled out by medical staff for three to four weeks.

The 29-year-old returned to training with the rest of the squad and would be able to travel to Galicia to play against Celta Vigo at the Estadio de Balaídos over the weekend.

However, Manuel Pellegrini faces the dilemma of whether to start Fekir against Os Celestes or save him for their key match against AS Roma in the Europa League. Winning their group could allow them to avoid teams that dropped out of the Champions League and go directly to the round of 16 of the competition.

Nonetheless, Real Betis will want to maintain their good run in La Liga. They currently sit third in the standings after picking up 15 points in six games.
