‘Move on’ – Real Madrid star hits back at club’s fans

Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger this weekend made full use of the opportunity to send a message to the club’s supporter base.

This comes with Los Blancos’ players having come in for a fresh round of heavy criticism following the close of the 2025/26 campaign.

Real are of course fresh off another underwhelming season all told.

After going trophyless in 2024/25, the capital heavyweights were again forced to bow to the might of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, en route to another year without a title to show for their efforts.

A whole host of the club’s leading performers were singled out for abuse for the level of their performances along the way, as Xabi Alonso’s project came crashing down at the first hurdle.

One individual evidently keen to look forward rather than back, though, comes in the form of the aforementioned Antonio Rüdiger.

Speaking during an interview with Diario AS (as cited by Fabrizio Romano) late this week, defender Rüdiger was questioned on the ongoing condemnation of him and his teammates.

And the German went on to explain:

“Two seasons without a trophy is not normal. But what do you want us to do, keep crying?

“Move on. What’s lost can’t be recovered.”
