Mika Faye’s Barcelona commitment confirmed by remarkable post-Cádiz journey

The latest news surrounding the efforts of Barcelona starlet Mikayil Faye to make himself available to the club at all levels will no doubt bring about a collective nod of approval on the part of the Blaugrana faithful.

Stopper Faye, for his part, was included in Xavi’s senior Barcelona squad on Saturday night.

This came as the Catalans made the trip to Andalusia, for a La Liga meeting with Cádiz.

Despite having been widely tipped to be afforded his first-team debut at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, the Senegalese was ultimately forced to watch on from the bench across the 90 minutes, as his side battled their way to an eventual 1-0 win.

Evidently, though, Faye did not allow as much to dampen his spirits.

As much comes amid confirmation that the 19-year-old, in the immediate aftermath of Saturday night’s outing, was on the move once more.

As per a report from Diario Sport, Faye, accompanied by a personal driver from the club, made the near-600km journey from Cádiz to Salamanca.

Departing just before midnight, the journey is estimated to have lasted around five-and-a-half hours.

This came with a view to taking his place in the heart of defence for Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic, against Unionistas on Sunday night.
