Marcão makes small step towards Sevilla debut

Marcão is progressing well to make full recovery for Sevilla debut, report Mundo Deportivo.

The Brazilian joined Los Nervionenses from Galatasaray this past summer transfer window. He is currently nursing a hamstring injury, which medical staff at the end of August believed would sideline him for at least three weeks.

Marcão is currently working individually on the field with a trainer and is predicted to join the rest of the squad in the next couple of days.

Despite being Sevilla’s first signing of the summer, he has not made a single appearance for the club, not even in pre-season. He was initially brought in to replace Diego Carlos, who left the Andalucían side to join Aston Villa.

However, with the departure of Jules Koundé as well, it is more important than ever for him to recover quickly so that he can join Julen Lopetegui’s defensive line.

Sevilla are keen to shore up their defence after only winning one game out of six so far in La Liga.
