Marc Roca: “I’m not going to give up now; Bayern is a dream.”

Bayern Munich’s Spanish midfielder Marc Roca spoke to AS about his first season in Germany.

What is your assessment of your first season in Munich?

Personally, it’s positive. The first year away from home is always difficult, especially when you go to a team as big as Bayern. It’s true that I would have liked to have played more minutes, but I have the feeling that I’m improving a lot and growing as a player. I see myself on the right path. Little by little, everything will come.

What goals have you set for the second year?

I try to focus on the day-to-day. I prefer not to pursue long-term goals, especially when they don’t depend exclusively on me. I want to take small steps every day, to improve my German, to keep learning in terms of football. Every player wants to get more minutes, to feel important. But I feel the confidence of the club and that’s what’s important.

In other words, Marc Roca will be at Bayern for a long time.

Playing for a club like Bayern is every player’s dream and it wouldn’t be fair for me to give up now.

Roca has only played six Bundesliga games for Bayern in the 2020/21 season.
