Premier League giants Manchester United are the latest club to position themselves in the running for the signature of Espanyol star Joan García.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of shot-stopper Joan has long proven a prominent one in the headlines across the Spanish media.
This comes amid the understanding that the gifted shot-stopper is beginning to draw admiring glances from not only La Liga’s top clubs, but those across all of Europe.
Barcelona, for one, have long held an interest in Joan, albeit with Espanyol having no intention of selling to such a bitter rival.
The Premier League, in turn, is considered the most likely landing spot for the 23-year-old this summer.
And, as per the aforementioned Sport, alongside Arsenal, who made an attempt for Joan’s signature last summer, Manchester United have now joined the fray, too:
‘In recent days, the possibility of Manchester United has been opened, who have sounded out the option of signing the Spanish goalkeeper.’
