The brass at Premier League heavyweights have identified a pair of La Liga midfielders as potential signings for the coming transfer windows.
This comes amid the understanding that the Red Devils have touched base regarding deals for both Barcelona’s Fermín López and Atlético Madrid standout Pablo Barrios.
Amid what has been nothing short of a dismal opening to the new campaign for their side, those in a position of power at Old Trafford have identified Michael Carrick’s engine room as being in need of reinforcement.
Amid an ongoing scouring of the continent, the attentions of the United board have in turn shifted towards Spain over recent weeks.
That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who, during an appearance on Radio MARCA’s ‘La Pizarra’ this week, highlighted the names of two La Liga stars as being on the radar of the Red Devils:
“There’s a Premier League club, Manchester United, that has a lot of things to sort out and is looking for a midfielder with the characteristics of Barrios and Fermín. They’ve inquired about both of them; there’s no negotiation, just an inquiry.”
