A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is drawing transfer interest by way of Manchester United.
The player in question? Alejandro Balde.
The subject of Balde’s future in Catalunya’s capital has emerged as a prominent talking point in the media chatter surrounding Barcelona over recent weeks.
This comes with the Spanish international in the midst of a hit-and-miss stretch of individual form.
Struggling to rediscover his brilliant best of seasons gone by, it has in turn been suggested that Barcelona could be open to a sale at the right price.
And as alluded to above, one club primed to pounce in the case of the Blaugrana pushing Balde towards the exit door are Manchester United.
As per a report from Goal, citing Mundo Deportivo, the Red Devils have earmarked the left-back as a potential summer signing.
An offer in the region of €40 million has been touted, albeit with any such fee likely to fall short of Barcelona’s valuation.
It is also possible that the Old Trafford hierarchy could attempt to utilise negotiations surrounding Marcus Rashford’s permanent move to Spain to work out a deal for Balde.
