The board at Premier League heavyweights Manchester City recently touched base with their Barcelona counterparts, over a potential deal for a member of the latter’s backline.
That’s according to transfer journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who points towards Jules Koundé as the player in question.
France international Koundé is for his part of course fresh off a stellar individual campaign in 2024/25.
Thriving from his berth at right-back under the watch of new boss Hansi Flick, the former Sevilla man added a new attacking element to his game, en route to an impressive haul of four goals and eight assists in all competitions.
And such exploits, evidently, did not go unnoticed on the part of ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola.
As per a report from Fabrice Hawkins:
‘Manchester City and another top-tier club have made inquiries about the French international.’
It is also noted, however, that Barcelona and Koundé are currently locked in talks over a new contract for the 26-year-old, with both parties eager to prolong their partnership.
