Former Barcelona head coach Pep Guardiola has this weekend spoken out on the speculation linking star Manchester City striker Erling Haaland with a move to the Camp Nou.
The name of frontman Haaland has of course long proven a prominent one in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes amid the understanding that, ahead of the departure of Robert Lewandowski next summer, Barcelona consider the Norwegian something of a ‘dream’ replacement.
Haaland is for his part in the midst of nothing short of a spectacular start to the new season, with 11 goals in eight appearances to his name.
Speaking to the media late this week, the subject of his former employers’ long-term links with his prolific goalscorer was in turn put to the aforementioned Pep Guardiola.
And in his response, Man City’s headmaster went on to admit:
“Barça want Haaland? I understand that Barcelona dream of Erling, and so do all the teams in the world. If he was not with us, it would be City’s dream to have a player like him.”
