Mallorca struggle to meet Martin Braithwaite’s demands

Mundo Deportivo report that Mallorca are interested in signing Martin Braithwaite from Barcelona, but the Balearic club are struggling to meet the player’s demands.

Barcelona are looking for ways to offload Braithwaite as he is not part of Xavi’s future plans. However, he is still contracted with the club until June 2024.

Mallorca have shown interest in taking the Danish international off Barça’s hands and are willing to negotiate a loan spell for the 31-year-old.

However, it appears as though contract negotiations are stalling as Braithwaite is demanding an even higher salary than the one he is earning at Barcelona.

It would be in the interest of Braithwaite to leave the Blaugrana as soon as possible to have more playing time in order to secure his place in the Danish national team for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Braithwaite has already worked with Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre during their time together at Leganés.
