Mallorca star admits even he disagreed with disallowed Arda Güler goal vs Real Madrid

RCD Mallorca star Sergi Darder has admitted that he feels a disallowed goal netted by Real Madrid during the meeting between the two clubs on Saturday should have been allowed to stand.

Real Madrid are of course fresh off securing a third win from three to open the La Liga campaign.

After welcoming the aforementioned Mallorca to Spain’s capital, Xabi Alonso’s troops ran out eventual 2-1 victors.

This only came, however, after Los Blancos saw a trio of goals disallowed for various infringements.

One such goal was netted by Arda Güler, only to be chalked off for a completely unintentional hand ball on the part of the Turk.

The decision left Real Madrid’s players and fans alike bemused, culminating in the rules of the game being called into question once more.

And as alluded to above, one individual of the opinion that Güler and co. were certainly hard done on the evening is Sergi Darder.

Speaking to the media post-match, Mallorca midfielder Darder admitted:

“Arda Güler’s goal? For me, it’s never a handball. But because of the clear rule we have, let’s leave it as it is.”
