La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca have early this week announced a personnel setback in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that attacker Takuma Asano has picked up a fresh injury setback.
Wide-man Asano is for his part fresh off a match-winning performance this past weekend. En route to a much-needed Mallorca victory over Deportivo Alavés, the Japanese netted the only goal of the game during the first-half.
Spoiling an otherwise fine day’s work for Asano, however, was a new fitness issue.
Hauled off midway through the 2nd-half, the 30-year-old was put through an ensuing round of medical tests and scans.
And as alluded to above, these tests have since given rise to altogether negative news.
As per a statement across Mallorca’s social media platforms:
‘Takuma Asano suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg during the match against Deportivo Alavés. The player’s availability will depend on his recovery.’
According to Mundo Deportivo, Asano could be facing up to a spell of as long as a month on the sidelines.
