La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca have on Wednesday announced the imminent departure of head coach Javier Aguirre.
As much comes on the back of weeks of speculation pointing towards a likely parting of ways between the two parties.
Despite Aguirre having guided Mallorca to La Liga safety, and just a couple of spot-kicks from glory in the Copa del Rey, the Mallorca brass recently decided to seek out a change in direction on the club’s bench for next season.
Departing Osasuna boss Jagoba Arrasate, for one, has been tipped to take up the reins at Son Moix.
In turn, late this evening, Aguirre’s Mallorca exit has at last been made official.
In a series of posts across the club’s social media platforms, the Bermellones confirmed that they have come to the decision not to renew their beloved headmaster’s expiring contract:
‘Javier Aguirre will not continue at RCD Mallorca next season.
‘Thank you for everything, Javier’
