Real Madrid and Luka Modric have agreed on a contract renewal that will see the Croatian sign a new one-year deal until 2022, according to AS.

With both sides having agreed on the extension, all that remains is the official announcement, which will be great news for Real Madrid supporters. Modric, 35, always wanted to continue his career in the Spanish capital. He has demonstrated this desire by accepting a salary reduction proposed by the club in order to help solve some of the economic problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

His current deal ends on 30 June 2021.
