Dani Ceballos and Oscar Mingueza went off injured in the first half of Spain’s 0-0 draw with Egypt in the men’s Olympics Games on Thursday.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente spoke about the pair after the Tokyo 2020 opener.
“They are the greatest concern. They do not look good. Let’s wait and see if I’m wrong and they can recover. We are very concerned because they could be serious injuries,” De la Fuente said.
Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid ahead of the new LaLiga campaign after spending the past two seasons on loan at Arsenal.
