Lucas Vázquez: “We deserved the victory.”

Lucas Vázquez gave a post-match interview to Movistar + following Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory against Almería, which appeared on Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish right-back discussed his thoughts regarding the game:

“We knew it was going to be complicated. They took the lead at the start and this made them sit back and leave less space. In the first half we had two or three clear chances that we weren’t lucky enough to score, but the team remained strong and the victory was fair.”

Lucas Vázquez scored the equaliser in the 61st minute, which came after a goal which was disallowed in the first half:

“In the end, I was lucky to score the goal in the second half. It was a complicated moment. The victory and the team’s feelings have been positive and we are happy. I’m happy to be able to help the team with the goal and the victory is the most important thing.”

The 31-year-old is also happy with the squad rotation system that Carlo Ancelotti has been utilising:

“The best way to continue is by giving minutes to the players. The players have confidence when they have minutes on the pitch.”
