Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have flooded social media on Saturday evening, to sing the praises of the club’s latest breakout young talent.
The player in question? Brian Fariñas.
Starlet Fariñas is for his part in the midst of an altogether special outing at present. Amid an ongoing personnel crisis in Barcelona’s backline, the 20-year-old was afforded a starting berth for the Blaugrana’s league meeting with Deportivo Alavés.
A midfielder by trade, Fariñas has slotted in at right-back, for his first-ever appearance in senior football.
And safe to say, the Spaniard has not looked at all out of place… Linking up with Lamine Yamal to superb effect down the hosts’ right, Fariñas has shone en route to a six-goal advantage for Hansi Flick’s troops.
So much so that those of a Barca persuasion have moved to lavish praise on a player already being tipped for a bright long-term future at the Spotify Camp Nou:
